Jeffrey Lionel Dahmer, more commonly known as Jeffrey Dahmer, was a popular serial killer and sex offender who was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, in the United States. Over a short period of 12 years, he killed 17 males and dismembered their bodies.

He would often meet his victims subsequent to this incident in gay bars and lure them into his grandmother’s home, where he lived at that time. 

His next victim was a Native American youth called James Doxtator. Dahmer lured James into his grandmother’s home and offered him money to pose for pictures. Soon Jeffrey drugged him and killed him. This time he went on the boil the skull and clean it with bleach so that it could be pulverised.

Dahmer’s next victim was a 22-year-old man called Richard Guerrero. Richard was dropped and strangled till he died. Very soon, his grandmother got a sense of foul play involved in the incident. He was asked to move out, so he found himself a one-bedroom apartment.

Although Jeffrey Dahmer did not eat any of his early victims, police and other officials suspect that he started cannibalism when he moved from Ohio back to Wisconsin.

Law enforcement officials retrieved bleached skulls, severed hearts, heads, and flesh from Dahmer’s Milwaukee apartment.  It was later found out that he consumed the flesh of 15 of the victims he had managed to kill. He later confessed that he ate his victims to possess them permanently.

He had preserved the body parts in acetone and stored them in a wooden box in his workplace locker.

In 1989 Jeffrey Dahmer was sentenced to 5 years of probation and one year in a correctional facility. He was also registered as a sex offender in the US.

Dahmer Gets Arrested

His next victim was a 32-year-old sex worker whom he manually strangled and killed. These murders continued until 1991, when he was finally arrested. One of his victims, Tracy Edwards alerted Milwaukee Police officers. He was pinned down for wanting to resist arrest. He went to trial and waived his right to have a lawyer.

Charges Against Dahmer

In 1991 he was charged with four counts of first-degree murder. He was not charged with murders for a lot of his victims because there was no physical evidence of the crime.

He had pleaded guilty but insane to 15 counts of Murder. However, the Court ruled that he was not suffering from any form of mental disorder while committing these murders.

How Did Jeffrey Dahmer Die?

He was sentenced to solitary confinement due to concerns for his safety in Columbia Correctional Institution. However, he was soon sent to a less secure unit on his request

 On November 28, 1994, he was discovered dead on the floor of the gym bathroom. His head had the signs of extreme wounds. It was later discovered that he was bludgeoned to death with a 20-inch metal bar. Christopher Scarvor had first hit Dahmer and then went on to attack another inmate.

Jeffrey was aged 34 when he was killed in prison. When Dahmer’s Mother found out about the prison death, she said, “Now is everybody happy?”
